The virtual world
“The possible causes of exaggerated conclusions are investigated. It is concluded that the general practice of parameterization of computer models in climate change research shows an element of pseudo science because it leads to self-confirmation of input hypotheses (dogmas) and insufficient challenge of theories. The theory of the enhanced greenhouse effect of increasing CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere – the very basis for alarming messages concerning future climate change – is itself largely a modelling concept.”

Enviros on a jihad against Canadian tar sands oil
Don’t these idiots understand that oil is fungible? China and India are ready and willing to buy Canadian oil if the enviro zealots prevent us from doing so.
“Can’t say ‘no’ to Canada’s tar sands oil“
Do the warnings apply to climate models?

What is this guy talking about?
Antarctica, even with the recent warming of the Antarctic Peninsula, is accumulating snow and ice, SH sea ice is about 1.4 million square kilometers above last year at this time and 1.2 msk above the 1979-2000 mean. NH sea ice is about 0.6 msk above last year at this time. But the head of the UN IPCC “voiced strong concern at the accelerated melting of the polar ice caps, calling for international tariffs on carbon emissions.“

Enviros prevent us drilling off the Florida coast
Result: Cuba drills for it 45 miles off Florida coast. Do you think Cuban oilers are as environmentally protective as U.S. oilers?

EPA: carbon caps won’t harm economy much
The significant costs of cap and trade
“Under the Lieberman-Warner bill:
- The U.S. would lose between 1.2 million and 1.8 million jobs by 2020, and as many as 4 million by 2030;
- Additional costs per household of $739 to $2,927 per year by 2020, increasing to $4,022-$6,752 per year by 2030;
- Gasoline price increase of up to 144 percent, electricity price increase of up to 129 percent, and natural gas price increase of up to 146 percent by 2030;
- GDP reduced by $151 billion to $210 billion per year by 2020, and by $631 billion to $669 billion per year by 2030; and
- Reductions in the production of coal and electricity of 35 and 12 percent, respectively.”
Colossal jewel of glittering ignorance
“In the left corner the scientists and the environmentalist, railing against – what they see as – the further desecration of the natural environment and humanities pollution laden march to imminent apocalypse. In the right corner the Evangelical Christian Right and a few other patches of the Republican Party claiming that the science behind global warming is false and polluting the atmosphere does…no damage….to the Earth.”
"Human mining of previously sequestered carbon is our one huge gift to the biosphere"
Lights out in Britain
“A spokesman for the Local Government Association said: “The councils are considering these schemes to both reduce their energy budget and cut down on emissions.”"
